About the Role
Kenowa Plumbing is hiring an experienced service plumber to join our team. We’re a residential and light commercial plumbing company serving homeowners and businesses across West Michigan, and we’ve built our reputation on honest work, upfront pricing, and doing the job right the first time.
Here’s what makes this position different from most service plumbing jobs:
- No on-call. When your day ends, it ends. Nights and weekends are yours.
- Hourly pay — not commission. You’re paid for your skill and your time, not for what you sell. No quotas, no upsell pressure, no turning every service call into a sales pitch. Diagnose the problem, give the customer an honest recommendation, and fix it.
If you’re a plumber who’s tired of commission-driven shops pushing you to sell work customers don’t need, this is the environment you’ve been looking for.
What You’ll Do
You’ll run residential service calls (with some light commercial work) across our service area, handling a healthy variety of work:
- Toilet and faucet repair and replacement
- Water heater repair and replacement, including tankless systems
- Water softener installation and repair
- Garbage disposal repair and installation
- Leak detection and general service plumbing repairs
- Backflow preventer testing
- Kitchen and bathroom remodel plumbing
- Occasional new construction and light commercial work
You’ll be the face of Kenowa Plumbing in customers’ homes — explaining problems in plain language, presenting honest options, and leaving the work area cleaner than you found it.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3+ years of hands-on service plumbing experience (residential service preferred)
- Michigan journey plumber license preferred; registered apprentices nearing journey licensure with strong service experience will be considered
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot independently on service calls
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong customer communication skills — friendly, professional, and honest
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
